A Lot Like Home (ALLH) is a global 501 (c) (3) Non - Profit Organization serving as a liaison between college students & their path to degree completion. Assisting 1st Generational & low income college students who find themselves physically detached from family and friends and financially struggling is our mission. Lending a helping hand is our passion with collegiate expenses & supporting them emotionally, physically & spiritually on their successful journey to higher education. We thrive, when our Homelike, family support system from afar makes a difference for our students.
Now allow me to Introduce myself, my name is Tracy Meadows Ford, a proud native of Valley, Alabama. The wife, for over 27 years of Pastor Edwin E. Ford of Savannah, GA. Crossroads For Life Ministries Youth Minister for over 25 years. And the mother of four wonderful children and one grandchild. In 2016, our "One & Only" son, a student - athlete, went off to college seven hours away. The distance & the lack of finances made the transition very challenging. Our personal experience, put the seed of A Lot Like Home in my heart.
We understand that every eaglet must leave the nest. And we also realize that there are different levels of maturity. Anxiety, depression, loneliness, loss of focus & other emotions creep in. ALLH aims to be a resource "A Lot Like" A Distant Relative helping a family member from another city in transition.
